Our story
A home, a mountain and a few good jars.
MAL is a small family maker from Akre. We prepare honey, sumaq, herbs and homemade goods the way we prepare them for our own table, and share them with yours.
01Why MAL exists
Good food should not lose its story on the way to you.
MAL began with a simple wish: to share the food we make at home with people who value it as much as we do. Not a factory and not a supermarket shelf, but a family kitchen and the honest products that come out of it.
We keep things simple: simple ingredients, simple packaging, and a direct conversation with the people who eat what we make.

02Our home
In Kurdish, mal means home.
The name is a promise. Everything we make is prepared the way we prepare it for our own family, in our own kitchen, with the same care and the same patience.
When a jar of MAL reaches your table, it carries a little of our home with it. That is what "from our home to your table" means to us.

Zebar Mountains and Akre.
Akre
Akre is home: a mountain town of stone houses and gardens, where food is still prepared slowly and shared generously. It is where every MAL product is made.

Knowledge passed down at home.
The methods we use were learned at home, from the people who cooked before us: when to gather, how to dry, how long to cook and how to store.
We keep those methods because they work, and because they give each product its character.

We keep ingredient lists short and honest, and we list them clearly on every label. What matters most is where an ingredient comes from and how it is treated.

Everything is prepared by hand in small batches and packed simply, so the natural character of each product stays at the centre. It takes longer, and that is the point.
